Server Map List Discussion

With Naval Strike now public, anyone want to talk about a new map list?

Here is a rotation i came up with, trying to give a nice balance of heavy vehicle, semi-vehicle, and infantry maps.  If we run these types of maps too close together we lose the part of the server population, so i think balance is needed.  Also stacking the most popular BF4 maps at the front so it's easier to initially pop the server (using data from the top 15 servers).


64-rotation:

Zavod 311 (sv)
Siege of Shanghai (hv)
Guilin Peaks (if)
Flood Zone (sv)
Golmud Railway (hv)
Caspian (sv)
Operation Locker (if)
Dawnbreaker (sv)
Nansha Strike (hv)
Operation Mortar (hv)
Paracel Storm (sv)
Oman (hv)
Firestorm (hv)
Wave Breaker (if)
Lancang Dam  (sv)
Lost Islands (hv)


I think the 32-rotation could be the same but with Metro tossed in towards the front. 

I left out Resort, Dragon Pass, Silk Road, and probably another, fuck those maps  :)  Although Silk Road might be good for the 32-roation.

I like... what do you think about putting the most popular maps closer to the beginning, and than also staggering them throughout to get the players to pop the server. my thoughts are that summer is coming and it may be difficult to get enough players to populate the 64 map rotation..

Not a bad idea at all!  I didn't think about that.  I would vote Zavod, Siege, and Peaks get sprinkled throughout.

Sounds good to me. A part of me thinks adding some Metro mayhem in there as well, but with Locker i think that'll still get us enough players.

Also, once last thought, how easy would it be to  have maps with spread out flags (Parcel Storm) every other map in the rotation, and separated by some close quarter maps (locker, or Metro for example). Some maps, not all, but lost islands for starters, do not flow, and i think apart of it has to do with how long it takes to get from one flag to another. so limiting these maps back to back could help us keep players for longer.

Let me know what the thought of the community are, i may be way of base... only had 2 coffees today.

Good idea again.  Feel free to create your own version of the list and post it.  Or i'll do it, when more peeps chime in.  We'll probably do a vote eventually, if there are conflicting preferences.

So we may need a vote to add metro, I know i have some love-hate for it, and i know others feel the same. i think we should plan a 32 player rotation, as this should give us a good base, here is what i was thinking (a few mods to Innates suggestion):

Here is a rough idea... I've only played a few times on dawn breaker, but if memory serves it’s a good tight 32 player map. Range can be excluded, as it also has the worst flow of all maps in my opinion. Siege is another map that can be love-hate, so we could shove that map anywhere in the rotation, along with metro of course.

Thanks for taking the lead on this. I will play whatever you guys want in there, as long as my brothers are playing it's good by me. With that said:

1. Rouge was not one of my favorite maps.
2. Metro is fine by me. We have regular ticket counts so map will go quick.

As long as it's supported by the group AND it will populate the server, let me know what to setup.

I can't believe that nobody wants to run Metro 24/7!!   :o
Anyway, I like the map list as posted so far (less Metro).  My only suggestion would be to run the maps in a series of HV, the SV then IF.  Maybe 3 of each.  That way it lets you get a feel of that type before you switch to the next series type.
The only way to see how people respond and populate the server is to try this and then fine tune it as we go.  :)

I like the list so far (-metro). not crazy about Guilian either, but o well. Although I don't like metro I'm only one and will play it if you all are on.

Okay, here is a revised rotation.  Similar rotations for both 32 and 64.  I designated maps that are only for the 32 rotation.

Zavod is very popular, and Metro is also popular so i will be good to sprinkle that at the top of the 32 rotation.   If nobody has any major issues with this rotation, i'll go ahead and have Corn set it up.

I am all for adding more maps.  Large Metro is pretty fun on low population maps with the side doors open.  It's when there are too many people that it becomes the explosive gauntlet.
