Severe Packet Loss on BF4
« on: March 09, 2014, 08:50:59 am »
OK Bros new problem. I bought a brand new wireless router to try and help with no success (net gear nighthawk). I've ran speed test and ping tester and both come back great. All the other devices hooked up wireless work great as well xbox, Netflix,  etc.
I went low on custom settings and played around with the network smoothing factor as well. The lag right now is making the game almost unplayable so any ideas I'll take!
Thanks
D

There's a new version of Punkbuster, i had to manually update it: http://www.evenbalance.com/?page=pbsetup.php  You might want to run it to make sure you're up to date.

You also might want to take a look at un-parking your cores: http://bfsupreme.net/index.php?topic=94.0

Is it every server?  You could try running a traceroute on the server and seeing if your routing is fucked, and contact your ISP to fix it :/

what anti-virus are you running? you might want to add an exception for any real-time scanning for bf4.exe  I use Microsoft security essentials, which is effective and free.  Havent had any issues.

A buddy of mine is running one without any problems. What is your internet connection? Speed?
Phones, tablets and streaming eat my connection up, even pandora streaming on a 6M DSL. Check what is connecting.
Firmware? They can make a difference. Do your homework though as some newer ones may cause additional problems, kinda like DICE games.

Pingplotter free version. Great program to see graphically your whole route. Just input server IP or web addy and watch it. I used it to prove to my provider where the damn problem was at one time.http://dw.cbsi.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2085_4-10021963&ontId=2085_4&spi=f823a56c40eab46cb4ec2cc7e863a65e&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=10172484&mfgId=58175&merId=58175&pguid=Ux0mQAoOYJEAABenf2IAAAFi&ttag=dl_dldirect&ctype=language&cval=en&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.cnet.com%2F3001-2085_4-10021963.html%3Fspi%3Df823a56c40eab46cb4ec2cc7e863a65e%26dlm%3D0

Good luck!

If none of this works, give a friend a blowjob, you will feel better. Reeper said he feels much better since he started doing this.
