Gaming Headset?
« on: March 22, 2014, 07:41:51 am »
Looking for headset recommendations, I've used my Sennheiser headphones and a standalone mic setup for a few years now.  But I've broken 3 mics in 6 months now because i buy cheap ones.  I've never had a true headset so i'm looking into getting one.

Anyone got a recommendation?

I have been using Plantronics brand for a while with no problems. I like the non - usb models as I use on board sound.

I've tried plenty of headsets out on both the PC and Xbox, the Turtle Beach brand headsets are by far the best IMO. I bought up a pair of x41's for the Xbox about 3 years back and they still work brilliantly, I converted them over to my PC rig when I upgraded my Xbox set, and I use a desktop mic and the setup works well.

Between that time I've tried out a pair of high end wireless headsets from Logitech, and Trittion. Both sets had great sound, but the comfort and longevity of both of those sets left something to be desired. One of the things I do miss is the all in one package for my PC set, I know going forward that I must have the mic on the head set as it doesn't work well for me now that I have 2 toddlers around the house and of course for me wireless headsets are the only way to go IMO.

If I were in the market right now I'd have my eyes set on These Turtle Beach headphones They are $200 but when you look at it in the long run if you take care of them they will last longer than your next PC upgrade.

I've been buying cheat headsets for years and they all performed about the same.

Just before Christmas a broke down and bought a decent headset.

I'm using a Razer Kraken headset that cost me 80 bucks and they are amazing.
